Visitors: Transportation
Rainbow over Frisco at dusk

See Driving Directions for information on how to reach Frisco from Denver.

Located off Interstate 70 approximately 75 miles west of Denver, Summit County is easily accessible from all of Colorado's major airports. Rental vehicles, most of which come equipped with all-weather tires and ski racks upon request, are available at the airports and in Summit County.

However, it is not absolutely necessary to rent a car for your Summit vacation. Several shuttles offer door-to-door service from the airport to your Summit County lodging accommodations. Once here, the county's free public transit system, the Summit Stage, will get you around.

The Summit Stage provides frequent bus service throughout the county. The Summit Stage buses depart regularly from the Frisco Transfer Center and many other key locations throughout the county year round. The Stage also offers free transportation for the physically challenged.

While the Stage stops at the main areas in each town and resort, local resort bus systems are available to transport you around once you get there -- also for free.
