When wildflower-laden meadows sprout from melting spring snow, Frisco emerges as a summer playground. Bike shorts and Birkenstocks replace ski bibs and Sorels as the attire of choice; ski racks give way to bike carriers and camping gear.

Summer activity is as varied as the people who travel here to experience it. Some prefer leisurely-paced recreation - such as golf - while others embrace more challenging adventure such as climbing or white water rafting. Still others sample tennis, four-wheeling, mountain biking, or in-line skating and biking on the 50+ miles of paved path which streaches from Vail to Frisco and Dillon and from Keystone to Breckenridge.

Frisco's family-oriented, special events, sponsored by the Town of Frisco, include a free music festival/street fair, Music on Main, Colorado's signature KCBS sanctioned barbecue competition, the Colorado Barbecue Challenge, a Fourth of July celebration, a bicycle tour stop and Main Street Party for Bicycle Tour of Colorado and Ride the Rockies, running races, car shows a founders' day weekend honoring colorful characters of the Old West. The Frisco Chamber of Commerce co-sponsors two special events with the Town celebrating culture with food, dance, and music on Frisco's Main Street.

Water sports enthusiasts will enjoy activities offered by Osprey Adventures at the Frisco Bay Marina. The marina accommodates 96 boats and features canoe and power boat rentals, as well as boat equipment sales.

Anglers will delight in Lake Dillon and Ten Mile Creek inlet fishing and a nearby Gold Medal trout stream; young fishing buffs snag catches in the stocked pond of Meadow Creek Park.
